A Tribute to Ringo Starr - a horse in a million

Tuesday 16th July 2024 was such a sad day, a partnership that started 14 years ago has sadly come to an end. We had to make the toughest decision last week and let Ringo go at the age of 27, to find peace over the rainbow. He has coped with Cushing disease for the last 10 years and for the last year has been battling with COPD.

Ringo Starr, came to us at the age of 13, as a retired jumping horse with damaged back legs, with time and care he recovered fully and became a firm favourite of everyone who met him.  

He's seen my boys grow up, he's looked after Torran our mad pony, he was there at the start of Forever Savvy, he's taken me out and about on many adventures, he's supported so many people with learning disabilities and his final act was to nurture baby Blossom over the last 18 months keeping her safe in a new herd.

One in a million, so grateful to have had him in our lives for the last 14 years. The loss is immense but he has left so many happy memories that we won't forget.

Thank you to Horse Savvy for doing such a fantastic job looking after him over the last 14 years and to everyone who was there for me last week to help me through the tears and support him is such a peaceful, dignified end.
